To celebrate the exhibition and Saar's Centennial, Let’s Get It On: The Wearable Art of Betye Saar, Roberts Projects has produced a tote bag featuring Cocaloony, a costume design created by Saar for the Inner City Cultural Center’s 1970 production of The Gnadiges Fraulein.

Let’s Get it On: The Wearable Art of Betye Saar, is an exhibition exploring the central role of costume design in Saar’s early career and throughout her life as a mother and artist. The archivally-driven exhibition features over 200 objects, including costume designs, photographs, drawings, garments, jewelry, artworks and historic materials fromthe 1950s-1970s.

Alongside the exhibition, Roberts projects is delighted to present Lets Get it On: The Wearable Art of Betye Saar, a landmark publication which expands upon the exhibition’s focus of Saar’s early work in work in costume and jewelry
design. Through original drawings, essays, archival materials and installation images, the book traces Saar’s evolution from designer to artist, revealing the enduring connections between her wearable creations and her broader visual language.
